Born during the September quarter 1884 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/769, the son of Walter Herbert & Annie Louisa Chapman (nee Wilson). 1891 Census - Carlton Villas, Windsor Road, Levenshulme, Manchester. Son - aged: 6 - born: Lancashire. Head of household - Walter H. Chapmman - Married - aged: 32 - occ: Commercial Traveller - born: Bolsover, Derbyshire. Also - Annie L. Chapman - Wife - aged: 30 - born: Halifax, Yorkshire. Plus 2 siblings. 1901 Census - 20, Park Avenue, Levenshulme, Manchester. Son - aged: 16 - occ: Provision Merchant's Clerk - born: Manchester. Head of household - Walter H. Chapmman - Married - aged: 42 - occ: Butter Merchant - born: Bolsover, Derbyshire. Also - Annie L. Chapman - Wife - aged: 40 - born: Halifax, Yorkshire. Plus 2 siblings. His mother - Annie Louisa Chapman died in 1905, aged: 44. 1911 Census - 44 Albert Road, Levenshulme. Boarder - aged: 26 - occ: Provision Trade Salesman - born: Manchester. His widowed father - Walter Herbert Chapman, aged: 52 and now employed as a Wholesale Provision's Merchant, plus 2 of his siblings have now moved to 43 Hartwood Road, Southport. Married Elsie Annie Hampson during the December quarter 1912 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1673. Elsie was a shorthand typist born in 1892. MIC - BWM & Victory only - no other info. Commemorated on the family gravestone in Sale Cemetery - son in law to Thomas & Letitia Hampson. M.I. - "Thy will be done".
