Born during the December quarter 1888 in the Ormskirk R.D. - ref: 8b/753,
the son of Thomas & Emily |Jane Schofield (nee Muschamp).

Married Margaret E. Bowman during the September quarter 1910 in the Bucklow
R.D.  ref: 8a/421.

1911 Census - 16 Finchley Road, Hale, Cheshire.   Head of household -
Married - aged: 22 - occ: Chauffeur (Domestic) - born: Ormskirk,
Lancashire.   Also - Margaret Schofield - Wife - aged: 22 - born:
Altrincham.   Plus his mother in law and 2 brothers in law.

A member of St. Margaret's Church Lads Brigade.

Employed as a Chauffeur, but later in the employ of George Harry Walker a
major shipping merchant in Manchester.   George Walker resided at Woodheys
Grange situated on The Avenue, Ashton upon Mersey which meant that Ernest
and Margaret moved into the Lodge at the entrance to the Estate.

Enlisted in May 1916 and due to his driving experience was posted into the
Army Service Corps and attd 12th Light Armoured Motor Bty.

Died of Pneumonia in hospital abroad.  (Influenza perhaps ?)

Death reported in the 08/11/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

The local newspaper states that his widow lived at The Lodge, The Avenue,
Ashton on Mersey.
