Born at Carlton on Trent during the June quarter 1882 in the Southwell R.D.
- ref: 7b/411, the son of John & Annie Lee.

In 1881 his parents resided at 1 Meyrick Road, Newark - John Lee - aged: 36
- of no occupation - born: Weston, Nottinghamshire and Annie his wife -
aged: 36 - born: Bottesford, Leicestershire.  Plus their eldest son - Enoch
Lee - aged: 12 - Scholar born: Newark, Nottinghamshire.

No more is heard of his parents after 1881 and it is believed that they
both died soon after, as John Samuel Lee was raised by William Reavill.

Enlisted in the Manchester Rgt. No. 21670 in 1914.

Died of Pneumonia in Mesopotamia.

Death reported in  the 25/10/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

Listed as J. Samuel Lee on St, Mary's Memorial.
