Born during the December quarter 1897 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/172, the son of Thom as Stainthorpe & Annie Booth Clough (nee Barraclough). 1901 Census - 33 Folly Hall Road, North Bierley, Yorkshire. Son - aged: 4 - born; Bradford, Yorkshire. Head of household - Thomas S. Clough - Married - aged: 30 - occ: Worsted Warp Twister - born: Bradford. Also - Annie B. Clough - Wife - aged: 29 - born: Bradford. 1911 Census - 11 North Road, Wibsey, North Bierley, Yorkshire. Son - aged: 14 - occ: Worsted Spinner - b orn: Wibsey, Yorkshire. Head of household - Thomas Stainthorpe Clough - Married - aged: 40 - occ: Worsted Warp Twister - born: Wibsey. Also - Annie Booth Clough - Wife - aged: 39 - born: Wibsey. Plus 1 younger sister. He was employed by Bateman Ogden & Co, Holme Top Mills, Bradford. WO 363 - Enlisted into the R.A.M.C. at Bradford, Yorkshire on the 12th October 1915 - he was then aged: 19 years 190 days. He was residing at 11 North Road, Wibsey, Yorkshire. Employed as a Warp Twister He was 5 feet, 7 1/2 inches in height, he weighed 121 Lb and his chest expansion was 33 - 36 inches. He had suffered from Malaria (BT) whilst serving as a Nursing Orderly pre-1917 out in Mesopotamia. He had been admitted to the 3rd British General Hospital Base Isolation Hospital. He was was discharged from the Army on the 17th November 1919. Death registered during the March quarter 1920, aged: 22 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/252. Buried on the 28th January 1920.
