the son of James & Emma Lomax (nee Rhodes).

1901 Census - 52 Cornbrook Street, Stretford.   Son - aged: 8 - born:
Manchester.   Head of household - James Lomax - Married - aged: 36 - born:
Manchester.   Also - Emma Lomax - Wife - aged: 33 - born: Manchester.

His father died later in 1901, aged: 36.   Emma married James Lowe in
1904.

1911 Census - 1 Polar Terrace, Glebelands Road, Ashton upon Mersey.    
Step-son - aged: 19 - occ: Labourer - born: Hulme, Manchester.   Head of
household - James Lowe (Emma's new husband) - Married - aged:  34 - occ:
Gardener - born: Sale.    Plus a half-sister - Elsie Lowe - aged: 1 1/2
years - born: Ashton upon Mersey.

Emma and her new husband later resided at 10 Firs Road, Carrington Lane,
Ashton upon Mersey.

Pension Records - Dependant - Mother - Mrs. Emma Lowe, Keepers Cottage,
Moss Lane, Ashton upon Mersey.   Died of Pneumonia on Guernsey.  Awarded a
weekly pension of 7/- w.e.f. the 11th June 1917.
