Educated at Grafton House School, Victoria Park, Manchester.  An Architect
& Surveyor, he was articled with  Mr. George Westcott, King St,
Manchester.

Parents moved from Lymm to Altrincham 2 years previously.

He was an all round athlete and a boxer and played Rugby for Bowdon Rangers
RUFC.

Previously with the Manchster Volunteer Light Infantry Territorials for 8
years.

Unmarried, he re-enlisted in August 1914.

His last letter homer stated that he was at Port Sudan.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1916, which states
that he was a Lance Corporal.
