only child of Henry & Sarah Ann Crookes (nee Green).

Sterndal H. Crookes) - aged: 2 - born: Salford.   Head of household - Henry

Sheffield, Yorkshire.   Also - Sarah A. Crookes - Wife - aged: 39 - born:

His father died in 1910, aged: 57.

1911 Census - 4 Goulden Street, Pendleton, Salford.   Son (Listed as Henry
Sternd. Crookes) - aged: 12 - Scholar - born: Pendleton, Salford.   Head of
household - Sarah Ann Crookes - Widow - aged: 48 - born: Sheffield.  Plus 1
female boarder.

The 15th Battalion D.L.I. landed at Boulogne on the 11th September under
the orders of 64th Brigade, 21st Division.   Henry was killed on the first
day of the British offensive known as the "Battle of the St. Quentin Canal"
that lasted four days until the 2nd October 1918.   After a preparatory
bombardment of enemy trenches using gas shells and high explosive shells,
they asembled at 05.50 hrs on the 29th September in rain and darkness and
attacked on a 12 mile front through dense fog and smoke.

His mother died within the Bucklow R.D. in 1936, aged: 74.

SDGW lists his number as 91925 and that he died on 11/09/18.
