Puchvillers is on the main D11 road between Amiens and Thièvries, 12 miles
N.E. of Amiens. At the beginning of the battle of the Somme it was one of
the principal railheads for ammunition. It was also one of the places
where the trains waited to take away the massive number of wounded from the
1st/2nd of July, which relates to the fact that George Brown 'died of
wounds'.

His father is listed in the local 1899 Directory as being a Wheelwright
living at Hampson St.

The 1915 Sale Directory lists - George Brown - Wheelwright.

French M.I. - "Although absent from our home, forever in our hearts".
