Born during the March quarter 1881 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/180,
the son of George Charles & Caroline Mattinson (nee Kenworthy).

His father died in 1885, aged: 46.  His mother - Caroline Mattinson, then
married Douglas Gelling Mattinson during the December quarter 1889 in the
Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/269.

born: Sale.   Head of household - Douglas G. Rogers - Married - aged: 31 -
occ: Assistance Woollen Buyer - born: Manchester.    Also - Caroline Rogers
- Wife - aged: 40 - born: Manchester.   Plus 1 half brother, 1 brother and
1 domestic servant.

Also Dorothy Smailes - Wife - aged: 25 - born: Sale.    Plus 1 infant
daughter and 1 domestic servant.

Enlisted in 1915 and had been at the front for 18 months.

Death reported in the 08/06/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.   Died
of Carbuncle, Pleurisy, Bronchitis, conn: on A/S (Active Service).

His widow - Dorothy was the daughter of Lt. Colonel Hardy Kenworthy of
Sale.

CWGC - Son of Captain Charles Mittinson & Caroline Mattinson (nee
Kenworthy), Sale.   Husband of Dorothy S. Mattinson, 32 Elmasmere Road, Fog
Lane, Didsbury, Manchester.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918, which states
that he was formerly of Sale, but latterly of Didsbury, Manchester.

Pension Records.   Widow - Dorothy Smailes Mattinson, 32 Elmasmere Road,
Fog Lane, Didsbury, Manchester.   Their two daughters were: Barbara Mary
Kinsey (b. 07/10/1910) and Nora Kinsey (b. 24/01/1912).    Dorothy received
a £3 grant on the 5th July 1917 and a weekly pension of 24/2d w.e.f. the
3rd December 1917.
