Killed instantly, by a bullet from a sniper.

Death reported in the 19/05/1916 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

He left a widow and three young children.

His brother - Frederick Buckley was killed by lightning at Bloemfontein,
Orange Free State, South Africa in January 1901.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1917.
