eldest son of Michael & Margaret Hill (nee Webster).

His mother married Thomas Dunne during the March quarter 1911 in the
Prescot R.D. - ref: 8b/894.

His brother John Hill was killed on the Somme in October 1916.   The M.I. -
John's CWGC Headstone states:- "Also Edward Hill, Royal Highlanders of
Canada, on whose souls sweet Jesus have mercy".

Post war, his mother and stepfather were residing at 14 Gordon Avenue,
Ashton upon Mersey.
