Born during the September quarter 1898 in the Alrtrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/191, the son of William & Mary Jones. 1901 Census - Davenport Lane, Sale. Son - aged: 3 - born: Sale. Head of household - William Jones - Married - aged:48 - occ: Coachman (Domestic) - born: Denbighshire, Wales. Also Mary Jones - Wife - aged: 46 - born: England. Plus 8 elder siblings. His mother - Mary Jones died in 1903 - aged: 52. 1911 Census - 2 Army Villas, Doveston Road, Ashton upon Mersey. The family are now residing with his sister and her husband. Brother-in-Law - aged: 12 - Scholar - born: Sale. Head of household - William Schlemm - Married - aged 34 - occ: Clerk in Fish Market - born: Manchester. His father is with them - Widower - aged:57 - occ: Coachman - born: Bangor, Flintshire. Plus 4 elder siblings. Member of St. Mary's Church where he sang in the choir. Employed by Mr. T.
