the only son of Frederick William & Anne Ash Backler NeƩ Wilkins).  Birth
registered as Frederick Norman Backler.

Portsea, Hampshire.   Head of household - Frederick W. Backler - Married -
aged: 30 - occ: Wholesale Grocer (Partner) - born: Porstsea.    Also Annie
A. Backler -Wife - aged: 29 - born: Portsea.  Plus 1 elder sister and 1
domestic servant.

1911 Census - 382 Park Road North, Brkenhead, Wirral.   Son (listed as
Norman Frederick Backler) -  Son - aged: 12 - Scholar - born: Portsmouth.

Commercial Traveller - born: Portsmouth.    Also Annie Ash Backler -Wife -

Between 1911 and 1918, his parents moved to 12 Claremont Road, Sale.  It is
not known if Norman spent time at Sale.

SDGW lists his number as 380274.  Original No. 1800.  It also lists him as
Norman Frederick Backler.

returned.
