Born during the June quarter 1896 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/183, the
youngest son of Joseph & Jane Moore.

born: Carrington, Cheshire.    Also Jane Moore - Wife - aged: 40 - born:

Attended St. Paul's Sunday School.

Enlisted in early 1915 and drafted to the front in May 1915.

MIC - Originally served in Seaforth Highlanders - No. 2884.   Drafted to
France on the 20th June 1915.    BWM - 15 Star - Victory.

Employed as Under Gardener to Mr. T. Percival, Brooklands.

The 27/07/1915 edition of the local newspaper reports that he had been
wounded in France.

Death reported in the 06/12/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

In a letter home - Lieutenant J.S. Russell, wrote. "We were up the line at
the time and were busy repairing a road to let our guns go up, when the Hun
started shelling us.    A shell landed close to where Private Moore and two
others, killing two of them instantly".

His elder brother, William Henry Moore died on active service in 1916.
