Born during the March quarter 1920 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/346. Took off at 20.30 hrs from RAF Honington in a Wellington bomber Mk IC No.T2464 WS-KI for a bombing mission to Magdeburg, Germany. Following an attack by a German night fighter, the aircraft crashed at Salzwedel, a town astride the River Jeetze, 74 Km NNW of Magdeburg.
