Born on the 26th October 1919, the birth being registerd during the
December quarter 1919 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c./1679, the son of
Ernest & Margaret Buzza (nee) Jackson).

Flight Engineer.

Commemotrated on the 145 Sqn Memorial at Altrincham Grammar School.

Flying with 75 Sqaedron R.A.F. they took off from RAF Mapal in Lancaster
MkIII Bomber - Reg: ND915 AA-A for a bombing operation to Homberg,
Germany.

This was one 21 Lancaster's lost that night on the Homberg Raid (7 from 75
Sqn).   However, many others were lost on other missions that night, 49 a/c
in total. 

The a/c crashed at 01.35 hrs between Keldonk (Noord-Brabant) and Erp, 5 Km
south-east of Veghel, Holland.   It was flown by Warrant Officer H.E.
Gilmour  RAAF.  Other crew members were Sgt. R.E. Buzza RAF.    Warrant
Officer L.A. Woodward RAAF.   Flight Sgt. S. Mills RAAF.     Flight Sgt.
J.E. Osborne RAAF.    Sgt. W.J.S. Ballard RAF.     Sgt. J.L. Stephenson
RNZAF.     L.A. Woodward and W.J.S. Ballard became Prisoners of War.

Death reported in the 23rd February 1945 edition of the Manchester Evening
News. .  Insert under the heading "Rol of Honour"  Signed by his brother
(sic) - Eric, Kathleen & Tony.

His mother, Margaret buried at Alt Cemetery on 30/03/1944 - Burial No.
12,035.
