Attended Bowdon College. The family home was previously "Chasefield" at Bowdon before moving to Belgrave Rd. A member of Bowdon Hockey Club. Employed at the District Bank, Wilmslow. Volunteered for the RAF in April 1939, but not called up until after the outbreak of war. Sent to South Africa for training under the Empire Air Training Scheme. After only one week after joining his first Fighter Squadron he was killed in a flying accident at Old Sarum, Salisbury, Wiltshire. Buried 26/09/1942 - Burial No. 11,439. M.I. - "Always in our thoughts". |
