Born on the 28th July 1924 , the birth being registered during the
September quarter 1924 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a.270, the twin son of
Thomas & Gladys Boardman (nee Jones). 

Attended the same school class as his twin brother and they both joined the
Home Guard together.

1939 National Refgistration -   2 Brown Street, Altrincham.    Thomas
Boardman - Born on the 8th December 1889 - occ: Scrap Iron Dealer.   Gladys
Boardman - Born on the 19th July 1893 - Married - occ: Unpaid Domestic
Duties.   Victor Boardman - Born on the 28th July 1924 - occ:  Milk
Deliveries and Farm Work    His twin brother - Vincent Boardman - Born on
the 28th July 1924 - occ: Errand Boy at tin can works.      Six other
siblings are recorded, plus 3 redacted records.

MEN dated the12th February 1943 reports that the twins have received their
call up papers  - Victor is to report next Thursday and and his brother -
Vincent is to have his medial next Tuesday.   They have asked to join the
same unit - their applicatios were not successful.

There is an article in the 07/07/1944 edition of the local newspaper
stating the Boardman twins had both landed in France, but neither knew that
the other was there - both were killed.
