Born Woodfield Rd, Broadheath. Attended Bradbury Central School, Altrincham. Member of Broadheath Congregational Church. Employed at Altrincham Post Office, then tranferred to Mount Pleasant, London, from where he was called up, being a reservist. Joined the RN when he was 15 years old and spent 7 years in the Submarine Service. After he was reported missing, his wife took their two babies and moved to Pendlebury to be with her parents |
