residingwith Fred's elder brother - John Pillingand his family at  at 4
Leigh's Cottages, Wellfield Lane, Timperley.   Fred - aged: 24 - occ:
Railway Porter, Cheshire Lines - born: Timperley.   Also - Annie Pilling -
aged: 24 - born: Betley, Crewe, Cheshire.

Born on the 7th December 1921, the son of Fred & Annie Pilling (nee
Bailey).

1939 Natonal Registration - 6 Marsland Road, Timperley.   Son - born on the
7th December 1921 - occ: Seeking employment.  Head of household - Fred
Pilling - born on the 26th October 1895 - Married - occ: Railway Porter. 
Also -  Annie Pilling - born on the 11th December 1894 - Married - occ:
Unpaid Domestic Duties.    Plus three their three children - Frank, Betty
and Reginald (redacted record).  Another son - Noel died in infancy.

From the 17th July 1944, the 6th Bn Cheshire Rgt were heavily involved in
the fighting on the Italian front.  Along with the Canadians they worked
their way up the north east coast of Italy, sustaining heavy lossed in the
process.   Gothic Line (25 August to 22 September, 1944) - Coriano (03
September to 15 September, 1944) - Rimini Line (14 September to 21
September, 1944) - Lamone River Crossing (02 December to 13 December, 1944)
- Argenta Gap (13 April to 21 April, 1945).
