04/08/1942 - Took off at 22.30 hours in a Wellington Mk III No. BJ584 to
bomb Essen.   Bomb load comprised 500 lb H.E's and they bombed on the
target area.    Flak was heay and searchlights were lighting up V.P.     No
enemy aircraft seen - weather was fairly good, cloudy in places.

11/08/1942 - Took off in a Wellington Mk III No. X3646 AA to bomb Mainz. 
The a/c was hit by Flak, which severely wounded the pilot in the abdomen.  
Subsequently, the a/c crashed into the sea.   The body of Flying Officer
T.H.W. Baker was recovered and Sgt. J.E. London was made a prisoner of
war.

The remainder of the crew were all killed and they are commemorated on the
Runnymede Memorial:- Pilot - Sgt George Edward Francis Bradley RNZAF (aged:
25);  2nd Pilot - Flying Officer T.H.W. Baker (aged: 26);  Navigator - Sqn
Leader Ronald Ernest Kimber (aged: 31);  Wireless Op/Air Gunner - Sgt Arden
Ivan Ellis RCAF (aged: 28);  Flight Sergeant Cyril Vincent Green RNZAF
(aged: 21)
