BBorn during the June quarter 1921 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/308, the
son of George William & Margaret Wright Leonard (nee Burgess).  They later
resided at 131 Downs Drive, West Timperley.

Attended Bradbury Central School and Altrincham Grammar School.  Employed
as a Draughtsman at the Linotype Works.

Killed at Epe, Holland on the 16th June 1944 (Unitarian Chapel Mem).

Flying with 166 Sqn, he took off from RAF Kirmington at 22.38 hrs in a
Lancaster Mk III No. LM581 AS-X, for a bombing raid on Gelsenkirchen.   The
a/c ws engaged by a night fighter and shot down near Tongeren, Gelderland,
4 Km west of Epe, where the entire crew are buried.
