A native of Wallasey, he volunteered for the RAFVR in 1940 and served in
Egypt for three years.     He died in hospital in South Africa after of an
illness that lasted several months.

His father was the manager of Woods the Butchers, The Downs, Altrincham.

He left a widow and two sons - John & Peter.
