Born during the December quarter 1925 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref:
8c/877, the eldest son of John Thomas & Doris Jarman (nee Eshelby), who
later resided at 14 Lindbury Avenue, Offerton, Cheshire.

Flight Engineer - Shot down whilst returning from operations.

Flying with 44 Sqn, they took off at 18.42 hrs from RAF Spilsby,
Lincolnshire in a Lancaster Mk III bomber - No. ME442  KM-V to bomb the
Ladbergen aqueduct on the Dörtmund-Ems Kanal which was breached in two
places and put completely out of action. 

Homebound and nearly over the airfield Lancaster ME442 was picked up by an
enemy intruder aircraft and shot down at 01.00 hrs to crash amongst trees
in Grannington Park on the Brocklesby Estate near Grimsby, Lincolnshire. 

Cemetery records state that he died at Brocklesby Park, Kirmington, Brigg,
Lincolnshire.   Buried 10/03/1945 - Burial No. 19,822.

His grandfather, John Thomas Jarman died 17/12/1951 aged 86 years and his
grandmother Elizabeth Jarman (nee Handley), died 25/07/1923 aged 70 years. 
  Both his parents died in 1979.
