Born during the June quarter 1939 in the Barton upon Irwell R.D. - ref:
8c/769, the son of Thomas Murray & Mary Moneteath Johnston (nee Norton).

In 1911, his parents were residing at 15 Worthington Street, Old Trafford. 
  His father Thomas Murray Johnston was a Cutter and Lead Worker by trade,
born at Edinburgh, Scotland in 1874.    His mother - Mary Moneteath was
born at Newton Stewart, Scotland in 1879.   They had two sons - Robert
Bruce, born: 1907 and Thomas, born: 1908.

Joined the Metro-Vicker's Company as a Clerk in May 1935 and employed in
the Purchasing Department.    Joined the Territorial Army and mobilised in
September 1939.

77th DLO Yeomanry.     Killed by a bomb in an air raid at Llamar Barracks,
Pembroke Docks.

Buried 07/08/1940 - Burial No. 17,687.  Not commemorated in the Stretford
Borough Council WW2 Memorial Book.

There is a separate scroll memorial at the bottom of his gravestone which
reads "To Ron from all at MVE Co. Ltd"

His father Thomas died 19/08/1944 aged 71 years and his mother, Mary died
13/11/1941 aged 63 years.
