Attended Stamford Park School. Served a four year apprenticeship with H.W. Kearns Ltd, machine tool manufacturers, where his father also worked. A member of the 2nd Altrincham Company, Boys Brigade at the Borough Road Methodist Chapel. The local newspaper states that he was only 18. Killed by enemy action at R.A.F. Ford, Sussex. RAF Ford was a Fighter Command forward night fighter airfield Buried 08/10/1940 - Burial No. 10,694. Cemetery records state that he was aged 18 years. M.I. - "May the joys he missed on life's journey, be found in God's haven of peace". Sister worked for the NAAFI. |
