Langtree).

Hargreaves - Married - aged: 38 - occ: Chip Potato Shopkeeper - born: Bury,
Lancashire.   Also - Gertrude Hargreaves - Wife - aged: 36 - born:
Blackburn, Lancashire.   Plus 2 siblings, including, Edward who to later
identify her body and that of her husband and daughter.

Married Stanley Spencer during the June quarter 1931 in the Manchester
South R.D. - ref: 8d/261.

1939 National Registration - 27 Woodstock Road, Stretford.   Stanley
Spencer - Married - born: 12th April 1903 - occ: Mens Salesman Wholesale.  
 Marion Spencer - Married - born: 6th December 1903 - occ: Unpaid Domestic
Duties.   Jean M. Spencer - Single - born: 21st September 1932 - At
School.

CWD Report No. 52.    Died as a result of blast at 27 Woodstock Road,
Firswood, Stretford, from where her body was recovered at 06.15 hrs on the
23rd December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary.     Her body was
identified by her brother - Edward Hargreaves, Downing Street, Manchester
and released for burial to the Manchester & Salford Co-op Funeral
Department.    Described as being 5 feet 6 inches in height and of medium
Build.

Buried 27/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,866.   Marion's hiusband and daughter
were both killed in the incident.

Five people died in this incident.  Stanley Spencer, his wife - Marion
Spencer and their daughter - Jean Marion Spencer at No. 27 together with
two of their neighbours - Edwin & Emily Wood at No. 29.
