Born during the March quarter 1938 in the Manchester South R.D. - ref: 8d/271, the son of Charles & Hilda Hughes (nee Williams). Actually aged 2½ years. CWD Report No. 79. Died at 397 Chester Road, Stretford, from where his body was recovered on the 23rd December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford. His body was identified by his grandmother (Lyons) and released to the Council's Undertaker Contractor - R. Pepperdine, 31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford. Described as being 4 feet in height with light hair. His mother and his sister were also killed in this incident. Buried 30/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,879. |
