Born on the 21st June 1902, the birth being registered during the September quarter 1902 in the Salford R.D. - ref: 8d/93, the son of John & Alice Brandreth (nee Stanley). 1911 Census - 2 Arm Street, Broughton, Salford. Son - aged: 8 - born: Broughton, Salford. Head of household - John Brandreth - aged: 47 - Married - occ: Engineer's Labourer - born: Crewe, Cheshire. Also Alice Brandreth - wife aged:43, born: Manchester. Plus 7 other siblings. 1939 National Registration - 916 Chester Road, Stretford. William Brandreth - Married - born: 21st June 1902 - occ: Glass Cutter. Maud Brandreth - Married - born: 6th October 1902 - occ: Unpaid Domestic Duties. CWD Report No.113. Died as a result of falling debris at his residence at 916 Chester Road, Stretford when it was bombed. His body was taken to the Church Street Mortuary, Stretford where it was identified by A. Brandreth (brother - Albert ???) and released for burial to A. Howarth, 912 Chester Road, Stretford. Employed as a Sheet Glass Cutter. and recorded as being 'single'. Death registered in Stretford Borough. Buried on 17/03/1941. His partner - Maud Davies, known as Mrs. Brandreth, was also killed in this incident.
