Lived with Ada Shawcross (nee Howe) at 35 Thomas Street, Oldham.

Sent down from his base at Oldham Fire Station to assist the local firemen
at Trafford Park during the Manchester Blitz 22nd/23rd & 23rd/24th December
1940.

Died at Withington Hospital as a result of injuries sustained at Trafford
Park the same day.

Death registered in Manchester City.    Funeral took place on 31 /12/1940.
