Born on the 24th September 19111, the birth being registered during the December quarter 1911 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/1594, the son of John William & Emily Finch (nee Geddes) who were also both killed in this incident. Married Doris Johnson during the September quarter 1936 in the Barton on Irwell R.D. - ref: 8c/1771. Doris was also killed in this incident, as were his parents. Employed as a Bus Driver. 1939 National Registration - 111 Duke Street, Old Trafford. Norman Finch - Married - born: 24th September 1911 - occ: Bus Driver. Doris Finch - Married - born: 10th January 1915 - occ: Food Packer. Died at 111 Duke Street, Old Trafford where his body was recovered at 14.20 hrs on the 25th December 1940 and taken to the City Road Mortuary, Old Trafford where it was identified by his brother - J. Finch, 43 Langshore Street, Old Trafford. Described as being 5 feet 6 inches in height. His body was released for burial to R. Peperdine (Undertakers), 31 Ayres Road, Old Trafford. Buried 30/12/1940 - Burial No. 17,883. The Finch family comprising - the parents - their son and their daughter-in-Law were all killed in this incident. |
