Born on the 9th December 1901.    Possibly Charles Thomas Dakin born during
the December quarter 1901 in the Shardlow R.D. - ref: 7b/499.   If that is
correct, then his parents were William & Alice Annie Dakin (nee Mustoe).

1911 Census - If the birth details above are correct then he was residing
at "Spital", Castle Donnington, Leicestershire.   Son - aged: 9 - born:
Castle Donnington.   Head of household - William Dakin - Married - aged: 33
- occ: Bricklayer's Labourer - born: astle Donnington.   Also - Alice Annie
Dakin - Wife - aged: 31 - born: Castle Donnington.  Plus 4 siblings.

Married - Born: 1st May 1874 - occ: Firewood Merchant.   Diana O. Hill -
Married - Born: 30th August 1872 - occ: Incapacitated.   Thomas Hill -
Single - Born: 21st May 1905 - occ: Printers Clerk (Costing).   Charles
Dakin - Single - Born: 9th December 1901 - occ: Locomotive Fireman.   Also
recorded at this address was the four members of the Ricketts family who
were also killed in this incident.

Killed when a land mine landed on Stanley Road, Old Trafford.   This was
the worst single incident in terms of loss of life in the whole of Greater
Manchester during WW2.   In total, thirty three persons were killed.

One of 17 Unidentified Bodies buried in the Communal Grave at Stretford
Cemetery.
