Born during the December quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/176,
the only child of Zaccheus & Louisa Ottillia Dunkerley (nee Arnold).

1891 Census - Heyes Lane, Timperley.   Son - aged: 2 - born: Timperley. 
Head of household - Zaccheus Dunkerley - Married - aged: 45 - occ: Manager
of Window Cleaning Company - born: Chorlton upon Medlock, Manchester.  
Also Louisa O. Dunkerley - Wife - aged: 28 - born; Timperley.

His father died in 1891, aged: 45.   Educated at the Manchester
Warehousemen & Clerks Orphan's School, Cheadle Hulme.

1901 Census - Manchester Warehousemen & Clerks Orphan School, Cheadle
Hulme.   Pupil Foundationer - aged:12 - born: Timperley.   The records show
that the School comprised 11 officer, 19 Servants, 27 male Boarders and 6
female Boarder, 116 male Foundationers and 71 female Foundationers, a total
in all of 250 teachers, servants and scholars.

His widowed mother is now an Under Housekeeper (Domestic) Servant at
Matlock Bank, Matlock, Derbyshire.  Smedley's Hydropathic Company,
Hydropathic & Boarding Establishment.

1911 Census - Mayfield, Westwood Avenue, Timperley.   Son - aged: 22 - occ:
Salesman - born: Timperley.   Head of household - Louisa O. Dunkerley -
Widow - aged: 48 - occ: Housekeeper - born: Timperley.

Employed at the Cotton Exchange, Manchester.

Married Lilian Ella Clarke during the March quarter 1913 in the Chorlton 
R.D. - ref: 8c/1317.

Well known in operatic circles - prominently associated (one of the
founders of) with the Stretford Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society, the
North Cheshire Amateur Operatic Society and the Timpereley Amatuer Operatic
Society.  His wife was also an active participant.

Enlisted in October 1916.

Died of wounds received on the 22nd March 1918. (The second day of the
German Spring Offensive of 1918).   SDGW & Gravestone both state that he
was a Lance Corporal.   Buried 13/05/1918.

Death reported in the 14/05/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.  See
also the 24/05/1918 edition of the local newspaper.

CWGC - Son of Louisa Dunkerley of Timperley and the late Zacchaeus
Dunkerley; husband of Lillian Ella Dunkerley of 36 Darnley Street, Brook's
Bar, Manchester.

His father, Zacchaeus died 13/05/1891 aged 45 years and his mother, Louisa
Ottillia died 31/01/1938 aged 75 years.  His widow never remarried and died
in 1982, aged: 95.
