Born at Lochcarron, North-West Scotland on the 7th May 1884.

His Canadian attestation form, signed on the 26th September 1914, at
Valcartier, Quebec, states that he was aged 34 years 4 months, 6 feet 0¼
inches in height, had a 44/4½ inch chest (fully expanded).   His
complexion was: fresh, his eyes: blue and his hair: brown.    The papers
also state that he was a Book Keeper by trade and that he had not
previously served in any military force.   He had a scar over his right
eye.

Religion - Presbyterian.   He was unmarried and his mother - Margaret
McDonald, Lochcarron, Ross-shire, was listed as his next of kin.

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1917, which states
that he lived at Inglewood, Burlington Rd, Altrincham.

M.I. "A loving brother, a good chum, faithful soldier and friend,
goodnight".
