Born in 1890, the son of William & Alice Tasker. 1891 Census - No Trace. 1901 Census - 10, Green Lane, Wincham, Cheshire. Son - aged: 11 - born: Wimcham, Cheshire. Head of household - William Tasker - Married - aged: 30 - occ: Chemical Labourer - born: Plumbley, Cheshire. Also - Alice Tasker - Wife - aged: 26 - born: Plumbley, Cheshire. Plus 3 younger siblings. Married Elizabeth Ann Chapman during the December quarter 1909 in the Bucklow R.D. - ref: 8a/297. 1911 Census - Lime Kiln Houses, Mere, Cheshire. Head of household - Married - aged: 21 - occ: Team's Man on Farm - born: Wincham. Also - Annie Elizabeth Tasker - Wife - aged: 23 - born: Millington, Cheshire. Plus their son William aged: 1, his mother in law and a brother in law. Formerly 5179 - South Lancashire Rgt. Enlisted in the SLR and drafted to the front in September 1916 when he transferred to the Y&LR. On the 12th October 1916 he took part in a bayonet charge from which he never returned - recorded as missing on that date. Death reported in the18/05/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. Left a widow and one son. Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918. |
