Attended the Timperley Schools under Mr. Fitton Enlisted as 7151 - Manchester Rgt in August/September? 1914 and was drafted to the front in October/November? 1915. He had served for two years in the LNLR, which indicates that he transferred over to them in the spring of 1916 The 05/07/1918 edition of the local newspaper reported that he had gone missing between the 27th & 30th May 1918 ??? The 18/10/1918 edition states that he was now a POW. Died of Dysentry as a P.O.W at Szczypiorno. Commemorated on the private gravestone in Christchurch Churchyard, Timperley, which states that he died on the 5th September and was buried at Syecyfiorm. His father, John F. died 16/01/1959 aged 86 years and his mother, Emma died 22/09/1944 aged 71 years. M.I. - "Peace, perfect peace with loved ones far away.
