son of James & Margaret Thorpe (nee Jackson).   Baptised on the 8th April
1888 in St. Paul's P.C., Withington.      Son of James & Margaret Thorpe.  
Father's occupation - Traveller.

1891 Census - 22 Burton Road, Withington, Manchester - Son - aged: 3 -
born: Withington.   Head of household - Margaret Thorpe - Married - aged:
33 - occ: Charwoman - born: Withington.   Plus 1 lodger.  No Trace of his
father.

1901 Census - 14 Hill Street, Withington, Manchester.   Son - aged: 13 -
born: Withington.   Head of household - Margaret Thorpe - Married - aged:
43 - occ: Laundress - born: Withington.

1911 Census - 8 Bradshaw Avenue, Withington, Manchester.    Son - aged: 23

w.e.f. the 17th July 1917.   Having lost all of her family, his mother died
in 1924, aged: 69.
