Born during the June quarter 1891 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/215, the
eldest son of Henry & Sarah Ann Spilsbury (nee Booth).

1901 Census - Half Way House, Knutsford Road, Mobberley.   Son - aged: 9 -
born: Knutsford.   Head of household - Henry Spilsbury - Married - aged: 40
- occ: Brick Yard Labourer - born: Knutsford.    Also - Sarah Ann Spilsbury
- Wife - aged: 36 - born: Northwich.   Plus 6 younger siblings.

1911 Census - Half Way House, Knutsford Road, Mobberley.   Son - aged: 19 -
occ: Chauffeur (Domestic) - born: Knutsford.   Head of household - Henry
Spilsbury - Married - aged: 51 - occ: General Labourer - born: Knutsford.  
 Also - Sarah Ann Spilsbury - Wife - aged: 46 - born: Northwich.   Plus 7
younger siblings.

WO 363 - Attested on the 4th December 1915 and mobilized into the 3rd Bn,
Cheshire Rgt at Chester on the 17th February 1916.   He was aged: 24 years
7 months and employed as a Groom.   His address was Half Way House,
Knutsford.   He was 5 feet 5 1/2 inches in height, he weighed 121 lb and
his chest measurements were 33 1/2 inches expanded to 36 inches.

Posted to France on the 4th July 1916.   He was wounded on the 2nd
September 1916 (no other details).   Admitted into No. 44 C.C.S. (Casualty
Clearing Station) on the 12th October 1916 suffering from Colitis and sent
back to No. 133 F.A. (Field Ambulance).  Admitted into ????? In the Field
on the 14th October 1916 suffering from Dysentery and sent back to No. 14
Stationary Hospital at Boulogne on the 16th.   Re-joined his battalion on
the 19th December 1916.  Reported as "Missing" on the 17th February 1917.

Cheshire.
