Son - aged: 9 - born: Ringway. Head of household - Robert Gatley - Married - aged: 32 - occ: Market Gardener - born: Ringway, Cheshire - occ: Market Gardener - born: Ringway - also - Harriet Gatley - Wife - aged: 35 - born: Norton, Staffordshire. Plus 3 siblings including Samuel who was also killed on active service and his paternal grandfather. 1911 Census - Yew Tree Farm, Ringway, Cheshire. Son - aged: 19 - born: Ringway. Head of household - Robert Gatley - Married - aged: 41 - occ: Market Gardener - born: Ringway, Cheshire - occ: Market Gardener - born: Ringway - also - Harriet Gatley - Wife - aged: 45 - born: Norton, Staffordshire. Plus 5 siblings including Samuel who was also killed on active service and his paternal grandfather. The local newspaper states that his father lived at Yew Tree House, Ringway. Joined the Hussars in March 1916 and trained in Ireland. Formerly 27327 - Southern Cavalry Depot. Drafted to the front in November 1916. He was struck by a shell and killed instantly. Forest of Dean Pioneer Bn. His youngest brother - Samuel Gatley was KiA in July 1918. Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918, which states that he lived at Yew Tree House, Ringway. |
