Born during the March quarter 1890 in the Chorlton R.D. - ref: 8c/904, the
son of James Simpson & Sarah Ann Reekie (Jenyons).

1891 Census - 75 Manchester Road, Burnage.   Son - aged: 1 - born:
Manchester.  Head of household - James S. Reekie - Married - aged: 51 -
occ: Commercial Traveller - born: Scotland.   Also Mary A. Reekie - Wife -
aged: 39 - born: Manchester.   Plus 2 elder brothers.

1901 Census - 8 Almond Street, Old Trafford.  Son - aged: 11 - born:
Manchester.   Head of household Sarah A. Reekie (Incorrect entry - this is
Mary)  - Widow - aged: 49 - born: Hulme, Manchester.   Plus 2 elder
brothers - 1 younger sister and 2 boarders.

1911 Census - 39 Park Street, Derby.   Now listed as Austin Reekie.  
Boarder - aged: 21 - occ: Metal Driller - born: Moss Side, Manchester.

MIC - recorded under his full name of Augustine Simpson Reekie, it states
that he first served with the King's (Liverpool) Rgt - No. 88262 and then
in the Labour Section of the Cheshire Rgt - No. 38514.   No mention of the
RWFs.    Awarded only the BWM and the VM.

Death reported in the 15/05/1918 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

SDGW states that he was formerly No. 29782 - Royal Welsh Fusiliers.   
Listed on Cenotaph and the Roll of Honour as Austin Reekie.

Grandson of the late James Jenyons, Priory St, Bowdon.

Local newspaper states that he had been reported missing on the 21st March
1918 and that his mother would be glad of any news about him.

He died on the first day of the German Spring 1918 Offensive.
