Enlisted in 1914 and initially served in the Royal Irish Rgt, later
transferring to the Welsh Guards.

His mother had four sons on active service.

Admitted to No. 34 C.C.S. (Casualty Clearing Station) on the 24th December
1916 suffering from GSW (Gun Shot Wound) to his neck.
