quarter 1870 in the Halifax R.D. - ref: 9a/447, the son of William & Ellen
Elizabeth Waite (nee Thorp).

(listed as Joseph SHARP Waite) - aged: 11 - Scholar - born: Halifax.   Head
of household - William Waite - Married - aged: 51- occ: Surgeon & Physician

Married Hilda Mary Smith on the 1st February 1899 at the Lightcliffe
Congregational Church, Halifax, Yorkshire.  The marriage being registered
during the March quarter 1899 in the Halifax R.D. - ref: 9a/674.   They had
one son - Allan Derrick Waite who was born on the 9th December 1903 at 62
Scarcroft Road, York.

1901 Census - 66 Micklegate, York, Yorkshire.   Head of household - Married

aged: 24 - born: Halifax.  Plus 2 domestic servants.

1911 Census - Pluckley, Kent.   Head of household - Married - aged: 41 -
occ: Medical Practicioner - born: Halifax.   Also - Hilda Mary Waite - Wife
- aged: 34 - born: Halifax.  Plus their son - Allan Derrick Waite and 1
domestic servant.

WO374/70900 - In 1913, he applied for a Commission.   His referee was the
Revd. W. Douglas Springett D.D. Rector of Pluckley, Kent who had known him
for 3 1/2 years.   Appointed 2nd Lieutenant - Gazetted on the 26th  April
1913.   He was 5 feet 9 3/4 inches in height   He wrote his Will on the 3rd
April 1914.  Probate for his Estate was granted at the Principal Registry
Office (London) on the 23rd January 1918.   His address was given as Stone
Lodge, Pluckley, Kent.  His widow was the benficiary and the value of his
Estate was £120. 18s. 4d.   His widow's address was given as Dunham Lawn,
Bowdon.   Hilda was granted a pension of £100 per year w.e.f. the 22nd
January 1916.
