Stating that he was actually a Quartermaster Company Sgt. Major and that
his number was originally 1671.

He married Milly Jessie Nunn on the 26th June 1916 at St. Andrew's P.C.
Eccles.  They resided at 27 Paradise Street, Eccles - now called Talbot
Street.    His father - Thomas William Ackerley was listed as a Soldier on
the marriage certificate.   Her father was John Nunn who helped to build
the Manchester Ship Canal.
