Trafford

According to the CWGC, this is the ONLY "J, King" that was killed serving
with the Cheshire Rgt.   If this one is correct, then...........

Born during the December quarter 1893 in the Birkenhead R.D. - ref: 8a/498,
the eldest son of James King and Ann Robinson (nee Robinson). 

1901 Census - 24 Oak Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire.    Son - aged: 7 - born:
Birkenhead, Cheshire.  Head of household - Ann - Married - aged: 29 - born:
Birkenhead.  Plus 1 younger brother and his maternal grandmother.

1911 Census - 7 Oak Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire.   Son - aged: 17 - occ:
Cardboard Box Makerat at Soap Works - born: Birkenhead.   Head of household
- Ann King - Widow - aged: 38 - born: Birkenhead.   Plus 1 younger
brother.

The 11th Bn Cheshire Rgt were part of 75th Brigade, 25th Division.  
"British Regiments 1914-1918" states that the 11th Bn went to France on
17/06/1918, however, "Cheshire Rgt in the GW" states that they were
involved in the Battle of Loos (25th September to 8th October 1915),  they
were holding the line near Ploegsteert Wood.  Strangely, according to SDGW,
only one man from the 1t1th Bn died during that Battle.  From the 9th
October to the 31st December 1915 another 18 men died, but only in ones and
twos - no large numbers on any particular day..

There does not seem to be a link with Chapel Street, or even with
Trafford???
