Trafford

Born during the March quarter 1882 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/179,
the son of William Charles & Nancy Moore (neé Lamb).

1891 Census - 2nd house from the Church School along Higher Lane, Lymm,
Cheshire.   Son - aged: 9 - Scholar - born: Sale.   Head of household -
William C. Moore - Married - aged: 36 - occ: Registrar of Birth & Deaths &
Relieving Man - born: Hale.   Also - Nancy Moore - Wife - aged: 38 - born:
Hale.   Plus 5 siblings, 1 young visitor and 1 domestic servant.

1901 Census - Higher Lane, Lymm.   Son - aged: 19 - occ: Clerk in Office of
Superintendent Registrar - born: Sale.     Head of household - William C.
Moore - Married - aged: 46 - occ: Registrar of Birth & Deaths - born: Hale.
  Also - Nancy Moore - Wife - aged: 48 - born: Hale.   Plus 5 siblings, one
of whom was the Deputy Registrar - quite a family afair !!!

His mother - Nancy Moore died on the 21st November 1904 - aged: 52.  She is
buried in the Hale Unitarian Chapel Yard.

1911 Census - Manor Cottage, Knutsford.   Son - aged: 29 - occ: Audit Clerk
- born: Sale.    Head of household - William Clarke Moore - Widower - aged:
56 - occ: Retired Registrar of Birth & Deaths - born: Hale.   Plus 3
siblings and 1 domestic Servant.

Well known in the Altrincham area where the family previously lived.  His
father up until his retirement was the Relieving and Vaccinating Officer
for Altrincham.     The local newspaper at the time of his death, states
that they lived at Lymm, (previously Altrincham).   His father died on the
27th February 1923, aged: 80 and was buried with his wife.

Employed as a boy in the offices of the Bucklow Guardians & Council
situated at Knutsford until he entered the services of Mr. Adams, the
Government Auditor prior to enlisting.    Member of the Altrincham
Conservative Club.

Enlisted on the 7th January 1915 attached to the Army Veterinary Corps. 
Came home sick in November 1917 and for a time was a patient at the
Auxilary Military Hospital.   He later transferred to the R.F.A. before
being drafted to the front in April 1918.   He was acting as an Air Scout
when a shell came over and landed 2 yards away from him - he was killed
instantly.   M.I. - "At rest".
