Trafford

Born on 11/11/1892.

Employed as an Electrician at Messrs. Ernest Wood Ltd, Hale, having served
his apprenticship at Messrs. Drake & Gorman Ltd, Manchester

Was to have married a Wigan Lady in the summer of 1917.

His brother was in a hospital at St. Nantive.

He was an instructor.   Together with his Sgt. Major, he went up for a
trial flight, leaving the aerodrome at 6.00 am.   The bodies of both men
were found in the wreckage - there were no witnesses.

Also reported in the 11/05/1917 edition.   Buried in the afternoon of the
9th May 1917.     The Sqn Commander of 24 Sqn R.F.C. laid a wreath.

Listed as being in the R.A.F. on Hale Cenotaph.

Death reported in the 04/05/1917 edition of the Altrincham Guardian.

RoH in local newspaper 09/11/1917 - his sister, Esther Peach of Hale,
inserted birthday commemoration.

Not mentioned in either "The Sky their Battlefield" or "R.F.C.
Communiqués".

Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1918, which states
that he lived at Cecil Road, Hale.
