Born during the June quarter 1892 in the Nantwich R.D. - ref: 8a/382, the
son of George & Louisa Rathbone (nee Hughes).

1901 Census - Wettenhall, Nantwich, Cheshire.   Son - aged: 9 - born:
Burwardsley, Cheshire.   Head of household - George Rathbone - Married -
aged: 39 - occ: Horseman on Farm - born: Tattenhall, Cheshire.    Also
Louise (sic) Rathbone - Wife - aged: 44 - born: Peckforton, Cheshire.  
Plus 3 sisters and a baby visitor.

1911 Census - No Trace.   His parents and 1 sister were still residing at
Wettenhall.

Formerly 35093 - Cheshire Rgt.

King's (Liverpool Rgt)  Labour Corps.

M.I. - "Peace, perfect peace".

Commemorated on a brass memorial plaque in St. David's PC.,  Wettenhall,
Cheshire.   Out of the 30 Wettenhall men that enlisted in WW1, John was the
only one to have been killed.

CWGC - Son of George & Louisa Rathbone of Wettenhall, near Winsford,
Cheshire.

His only connection with Trafford appears to be that he enlisted at
Altrincham.
