Born at Millington during the December quarter 1888 in the Altrincham R.D.
- ref: 8a/183, the son of Ephraim & Ellen Simpson Harrison (nee Clarke).

1891 Census - Cow Lane, Millington.    Son - aged: 2 - born: Rostherne.  
Head of household - Ephram Harrison - Married - aged: 46 - occ: Haycutter -
born: Wilmslow.   Also - Ellen Harrison - Wife - aged: 31 - born:
Rostherne.    Plus 6 siblings.

His father died in early 1901.

1901 Census - Sutts Hollgren, Bollington.    Servant - aged: 13 - occ: Milk
Boy - born: Millington.    Servant to Isaac & Hannah Warburton.

1911 Census - Bowdon View, Millington.   Brother - Unmarried - aged: 22 -
occ: Haytrusser - born:  Millington.  Residing with his brother and
sister-in-Law - George & Ellen Harrison.

He was a bird fancier and was employed as a Haycutter.    His brother -
George, was his next of kin.

Formerly No. 3326 - Reserve Cavalry Rgt.

I have some conflicting records for Edward.  He enlisted at Knutsford in
September 1914 - formerly 3326 - Reserve Cavalry Rgt and was drafted to the
front early in 1915.  Now this would indicate that he was posted to France,
or more correctly, Belgium, where the 1st Battalion were then stationed.   
However, his MIC states that he was drafted to the Balkans on the 9th
September 1915, but only the 5th Battalion fought at Gallipoli???   He came
home in November 1915 (from where? wounded perhaps?).    The 1st Battalion,
Dorsetshire Regiment served throughout the Somme Battles, July - November
1916, within the 14th Brigade, 32nd Division.   Returned to the front in
March 1916.  He is buried south-west of St. Quentin, near to where he was
presumably killed - this is well to the east-south-east of the Somme
battlefields. 
                                                                           
          
He qualified for three war medals - the 1915 Star, the BWM & the VM.
