A Stockbroker in Manchester. A member of Lancashire RUFC, Manchester RUFC and Timperley Golf Club, where he won the "Balfour" Golf Cup in 1912. A member of the Territorials for 12 months. Married Miss Parkin of St. Anne's on Sea. Soon after his honeymoon, he was drafted to Egypt in October 1914 taking his new wife with him. She returned to the UK on her own when he was drafted to Gallipoli. Death reported in the 15/06/1915 edition of the Altrincham Guardian. WO374 - His address is given as - formerly of 30 Cross Street, Manchester. His will was dated 25th June 1914, with his widow being the sole benficiary to his estate valued at £4,397. 1. 9d. Listed in the Guardian Year Book - Roll of Honour for 1916, that states he lived at "Elmscot" Timperley. |
