Born - George Fox Brown during the June quarter 1887 in the Altrincham R.D. - ref: 8a/181, the 4th son of William & Annie Elizabeth St. Aubin Brown (nee Dunbar). 1891 Census - Barrington Road, Altrincham. Listed as George F. Brown. Son - aged: 4 - born: Altrincham. Head of household - William Brown - Married - aged: 50 - occ: Railway Clerk - born: Manchester. Also - Annie E. St. A. - Wife - aged: 41 - born: Bacup, Lancashire. Plus 4 elder brothers and 2 boarders. His father - William, died in 1898, aged: 57. His middle name now seems to have changed from Fox to his mother's maiden name of Dunbar - perhaps the name of Fox was his father's idea ? 1901 Census - 3 Barrington Road, Altrincham. Listed as George D. Brown. Son - aged: 13 - occ: Clerk (Office Boy) - born: Altrincham. Head of household - Annie E.S. Brown - Widow - aged: 48 - born: Bacup, Lancashire.
